Here’s a contest for women
I have found over the last few months that I really enjoy entering contests. I like the thrill of hope, even though I don’t go in thinking I would win, just the chance and the deadline makes the writing more intense and exciting. But since I’m a broke writer, I never enter any that require a fee. When I run across a contest that I feel would interest my readers, I’ll post it. I’m gonna try my hand at this one. Susan B and Me
Postmark Deadline: March 15
Girls and women are invited to submit poetry, other brief writings and photos for inclusion in Susan B and Me, a proposed anthology in coffee-table book format dedicated to the spirit of women’s rights activist Susan B. Anthony. Send your reflections on the female experience—lives, loves, relationships, families, personal struggles and triumphs, self and society. Email Patti Ronsvalle for guidelines. No fee to enter.
If you decide to enter, good luck! Ya’ll have a great weekend. I’m taking off tomorrow. I’ll see you Monday when I post a whole bunch of markets and update the Helpful Links for Writers section.
Edit: The listing I found for this called it a contest, but I sent off an email asking for the guidelines and it turns out that this is a call for submissions to an anthology. Just thought I’d let you know. Sounds intriquing, though, so check it out. I’m sending them three poems. Did I say I was taking the rest of the weekend off? Ok, you caught me. I LOVE my blog! But I promise I won’t be back until Monday. (Jeez, I’m addicted)
