Black Friday
I am participating in a blog carnival today, my first, hosted by Holiday Mom. The subject is Black Friday, which is aptly named as far as I’m concerned. It’s the first official holiday shopping day, the one day of the year when the brave and daring go out seeking bargains and treasures for Christmas. Can you say ‘root canal’? I would rather have one than go shopping today.
It makes me think of what I saw at Target last week. My husband and I went shopping for some new clothes and there were people lined up on the sidewalk in front of the store, they were going to spend the night, waiting on the arrival of the new Playstation 3. I was astonished. To me, it’s scary that material possessions have become so very important to so many people.
My husband heard on the radio the next day that each store only recieved 5 play stations. That means that almost everyone sitting there in front of Target went home empty-handed. Totally insanity, imo, as is going shopping on Black Friday.

I remember the day it was released, they had 6 on the base where we live. They were suppose to give them away that day, instead they made everyone come back the following. There were a LOT of people upset. My family did go down, they were doing drawings every hour and since there weren’t any restrictions we all signed up, me, hubby and all three kids. Yes, even the baby, however we didn’t win. The winner got to choose which playstation they wanted and then go and buy it. lol. Funny in my opinion, you were winning but you were paying for it in the end. I’m actually happy we didn’t get it though. Okay, I’ve made a blog on your comment section, sorry about that.
You did great on the blog carnival, it’ll be going up shortly. BTW, I have a few entries on black friday on my site already if you wanted to read some.
