I’m Holding a Contest!
I am holding a contest right here on my blog. I have decided that, since my birthday is coming up later this month, and turning 52 has sort of got me bummed, the best thing to do would be to have some fun with this whole aging thing.
So here are the rules:
Write a 500-1000 word essay on how you feel about getting older. Funny is good, sentimental
is fine, just do your best writing.
Email your submission to wurdwise@yahoo.com by April 15th, the deadline.
The winner will be judged by me–I have edited an online journal, so I have a little experience here–and will receive $25.00 through Paypal, plus their essay will be featured here on my blog on my birthday, April 23rd.
I encourage both writers and bloggers to enter. I am pretty much convinced that the longer you blog, the better you get at writing, so don’t hesitate because you think you aren’t a “real writer”.

Denise — I’ll be sure to spread the word for you. Great way to celebrate. Mind if I borrow the idea for my upcoming birthday? I’m facing the big 4-0 and I’m not liking it one bit! 
I feel for you Gayla, I cried for a week before my 40th birthday! And yeah, by all means do this sort of thing. It sure will take the edge off, reading these essays and seeing how other people deal with aging.
