The Los Angeles Daily News is seeking energetic freelance sports writers.
The ideal candidates must have excellent reporting/writing skills and
experience filing stories on deadline. Our focus centers on high school and
community sports and knowledge of local teams is a plus. Freelancers will
produce regular game coverage, notebooks, features, trend pieces and

TITLE: Freelance Writer

RESPONSIBILITIES: Timely submission of articulate and concise articles

between 500-1,500 words unless otherwise specified. Please consult the

with our online magazine.
TERM OF EMPLOYMENT:
- Monthly Columnist (1 article per month)
- Twice monthly Columnist (2 articles per month)
- Weekly Columnist (4 articles per month)
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Degree in Journalism or English preferred but not required
- Writing/editorial experience a must
- Must be a motivated self starter
- Open to constructive criticism and/or creative direction
- Honest, trustworthy, reliable and ethical

FOOTBALL WRITERS SOUGHT
Hello everyone! We are looking for columnists to cover the following teams:
Oakland Raiders
San Francisco 49ers
Miami Dolphins
Auburn Tigers
BYU Cougars
Clemson Tigers
Minimum word count per article is 400. The payrate varies but can be up to
$10 per article to start. Most of our existing writers work for daily
newspapers or other established publications, so make sure you are a
polished write before applying.

CO-WRITER SOUGHT
Producer and writer of romantic comedy feature (currently under option)
are seeking to bring in a co-writer to contribute to screenplay. Currently,
Elisha Cuthbert (of “24″ fame) is the favored actress for the female lead.
Upfront compensation is minimal but writer would receive 30% of copyright
credit. A minimum of 10 years writing experience is required. Experience
with romantic comedies set in present-day is preferred. Writer must be
able to contribute approximately 200 writing hours to the project. Please
submit resume/bio with 1-5 page writing sample.
