The Future of Marketing

After you read this post you will agree with me that the face of marketing is changing as fast as you can say mobile marketing.

The mobile marketing company GoLive! Mobile has announced their free mobile version of Wikipedia. This is to demonstrate their new Text-2-WAP technology. The free service enables cell phone users to instantly learn about any topic by sending a simple text message to a “short code,” which is a 5-digit number.

When a cell phone user sends a text message query, the Text-2-WAP engine gathers the appropriate content from Wikipedia, and creates a mobile web site (“WAP site”) which is customized to display only the information the user is looking for. A link to this “personalized” WAP site is immediately sent to the user’s phone via text message.

To try the service, simply send a text message to the number 23907 with the word ABOUT followed by your search topic. Users are also encouraged to try a second application of Text-2-WAP technology, which provides access to news headlines from public RSS feeds. To get your personalized news WAP site, replace the “ABOUT” with the word “NEWS.”

GoLive! Mobile offers the mentioned Text-2-WAP demo services at no charge to the public, in an effort to encourage the technology’s adoption and continued development within the burgeoning WAP ecosystem. Please call 877.300.3429 with any questions regarding the services or technology.
