Would You be a Philanthropist if You Were Rich?

I have often wondered what I would do if I were rich. There’s not much danger of that happening since no one in my family is rich and I never buy lottery tickets!

But it’s fun to pretend. Daydreaming is one of the ways I relax, forget about work, relationships and just dream. That is one of my fantasies, being like Oprah and Brad Pitt and helping people in need. For those of you–which I doubt there are many, since my readers are mostly writers–who don’t know what the term is for someone who spends their own money helping the less fortunate, it is philanthropist.

I have a lot of respect for rich people who participate in philanthropy. It is totally by choice, no one is making them do it, that is what I admire. They CHOOSE to make the world a better place. I think that’s our mission here on this planet, to help each other.

A bank that cares for the financial concerns of the affluent and wealthy is Northern Trust. Another daydream, that someday I would be able to deposit money there! You should really check out their website, way classy.

Northern Trust is a premier band that provides asset management and asset servicing to affluent families and individuals and leading institutions worldwide.
