John Scott from V7N Plays Dirty
I have become involved in a forum thread at the V7N forums over the last few days that will reveal the ugly side of the administrator, John Scott.
V7N has a program running where they send forum members assignments by private message for them to blog about advertisers’ products and/or services. But they tell the bloggers upfront not to reveal that the post is paid. They want you to slip the link into your post, which I think is deceitful and underhanded. John calls it “SEO.” And according to John Scott, who got me and several other bloggers riled up when he called PayPerPost–a company that I do paid blogging for that originally caught hell because they didn’t have a disclosure policy, which they do now and are very adamant about– PayPoorPost, he has advertisers that refuse to pay for posts on blogs that do PPP posts. John said that PPP blogs were generally of poor quality, which is SO not true. He’s just a nasty little bugger and I fear that he is enjoying the attention he is getting from his slander a bit too much, but hey, some people will do anything for attention.
What is even more pathetic is that, like so many people tend to do on online forums, he has his sheep ba-ba-baing behind him, when, if the truth be known, many of them probably think he’s as big a jerk as I do, they are just afraid of falling out of the big boy’s good graces, (several, I imagine, because they don’t want to lose the underhanded income they are earning) others because they are just simply sheep. As for me? I’d rather be a lone wolf.
My beef with John Scott is now at this point three fold. First, he’s crooked, second, he insulted PPP when there was absolutely no call for that, and third, he brought up my age, which I’m sensitive about.
So there, John Scott, put that in your SEO pipe and smoke it.

Thanks for the link. Great post. I totally agree with you and my loyalty to PPP is greater than my loyalty to v7n
Let me make sure I understand you Denise. The people who agree with John Scott are “his sheep ba-ba-baing behind him” or people who depend on “the underhanded income they are earning” while the people who agree with you are great independent thinkers? Or are they lone wolves like you?
I tried publishing for payperpost and over 6 months or so found PPP horrible for publishers (not for advertisers if you know how to set up opps that weed out most low quality blogs). Does that make me a sheep, a wolf, or just a guy with an experience?
You can take this post anyway you want, James of the “Who thinks PPP sucks?” fame, you will, and did, anyway. And whether you are a sheep or not is not for me to decide. That’s up to you. Although I will say that just because someone agrees with me does not automatically make them an independent thinker. In fact, the opposite is often true. I have far more respect for someone who is not afraid to voice a dissenting opinion than for those who tow the party line.
I see so many people on forums doing exactly that, sucking up to the powers that be. If they DID have an opinion that was contrary to what the administrators or moderators said, they are too cowardly to say so.

Some of these so called “SEO experts” need to get a life. Most importantly, they need to practice full disclosure.

One hundred percent right on the money. Excellent article!!
