Let’s Talk about Finances

I don’t know of anyone, at least they are not in my circle, who doesn’t have financial challenges. It is just the way things are. I am not sure if it is the economy or if the fact that people often live beyond their means. I would suspect that it is the later.

For instance, my sister and her husband built a house and now their mortgage - is as much as all of my monthly expenses combined! And what really sucks about it, and I am glad she doesn’t read my blogs, is that the house is not very big. Oh, it’s nice alright, but I was shocked to see how small the rooms were the first time I visited.

I guess she and her husband had to take what they could get since they had had trouble with their credit before. I am aware that there are companies that do offer bad credit mortgages - for people like them.

Ok, I better quit talking about my sister before something bad happens to me! She’s a mean little minx and she might even be able to sense through telepathic powers that I am blogging about her little doll house. Besides, I said that I wanted to talk about more than just mortgages. I want to talk about finances and why so many people are knee deep in debt. I think one of the reasons is that it is just too easy to acquire secured loans. We live in the “now” generation. People are used to getting what they want NOW, not later, when they can actually afford it.

I really think we need to reverse this trend. It sends a terrible message to our young people, a message that is completely void of the axiom, “good things come to those who wait. ”

What do you think? Chime in and give me your opinion on finances.
