College Newspaper Editor Fired
- The College Republican, a student organization at Colorado State University, has an daily student newspaper called The Rocky Mountain Collegian. But they may no longer have their editor-in-chief, David McSwane. Why? Because he printed in the newspaper of the school a column called “F**k Bush.” This sparked a national free speech debate. The College Republicans concluding things by asking for his resignation. (I think he should switch parties, don’t you? You know Republicans aren’t supposed to speak for themselves.) “Taser this: F**k Bush” was printed on the opinion page of the newspaper. CSU president Larry Penley issued a formal statement that there will be a meeting of the Board of Communication at the school where they will decide the fate of McSwane and his future involvement with the publication.
