Accepting music video uploads for consideration in its online music video site, Algeka only takes original songs by unsigned solo artist. Your video must not run longer than five minutes. Then users buy DRM-free downloads of their favorite artists’ works: videos for $1.99 and MP3 audio for 99 cents. Thirty second previews are free to view before purchasing the video.
The way that Algeka differs from other music video sites is, for one thing, singers get paid. The owners of the music videos that are chosen are paid 20 percent of the proceeds of each download. Another is that they only accept unsigned, solo artists.
I like this video by Sean Wiggins. Her voice is throaty, kind of like Bonnie Raitt, and the music makes me happy. On the home page of Algeka you will find profiles of all the artist and be able to click on their profiles and listen to a sample before you buy.
